2016 Polar Bear Express Decision

After 20 years of making holiday memories, the Indiana Transportation Museum’s board of directors has officially declared that the family-favorite Polar Bear Express will not operate this year.

In lieu of Polar Bear Express, the Museum will be offering a new holiday event, Polar Bear Junction, throughout November and December at the grounds in Forest Park of Noblesville. Details of this year’s Polar Bear Junction event are forthcoming.

The Museum is saddened to not be able to offer the family tradition in 2016, a notable Central Indiana attraction that brought more than 11,000 riders to Fishers last season as well as notable economic impact. The event also provided several hundred thousand dollars in operating revenue to support the educational mission of the nonprofit institution.

Please check the museum website in the near future for updates regarding the organization’s current status and Polar Bear Junction. The Museum is continuing collaboration with the Hoosier Heritage Port Authority, and aims to return trains to service during Spring of 2017 for the enjoyment of all. We appreciate your continued support of the Indiana Transportation Museum.
