DINNER IN THE DINER
|
Do you seek a novel way to do one of these?
This train trip is ideal for (and has been used for) all of these occasions and would be great for any other special evenings you can think of. Dine in luxury aboard the restored Louisville & Nashville #2728, our 1930 dining car. A complete four-course meal is served the "Cross Keys Tavern" dining car. Each event is limited to 36 diners at six tables for four and six tables for two. On one of this year's seven trips passengers will dine as they travel to Tipton, Indiana and back, with other cars transporting Pizza PLUS Express riders on their adventure. On the other six trips you will begin dining as you ride to Fishers where passengers for the Hamiltonian will board. Then, on those evenings, the train will travel back to Noblesville to drop off Hamiltonian riders. There you will finish dinner over the White River. All "Dinner in the Diner" trains depart from the train museum in Noblesville's Forest Park. Attire for this event ranges from business casual to semi-formal, depending on the reason for celebrating on "Dinner in the Diner." Children are welcome on this excursion with purchase of a ticket, but passengers are asked to be considerate of fellow diners. Entree information from the chef is listed below, and vegetarian meals are available upon advance request. 5/8 PETITE FILET OF BEEF TENDERLOIN WITH TANGERINE
DEMI-GLAZE Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Museum's visitor services office at (317) 773-6000. This event is a perennial favorite. Due to the limited seating and limited number of trips, it often sells out months in advance. This excursion also can be chartered. Proceeds from the excursion are used for maintenance and preservation of the dining car and its furnishings.
