Looking for a historic train ride that requires less time and money? Try our caboose shuttles, which run most Sundays in Noblesville's Forest Park. The Caboose Rides run from Hobbs Station at the train museum to the east bank of the White River, approximately a half block from the Noblesville Square, and then on to 196th Street for a scenic view of the park and the return to the station.

The Caboose Ride ticket includes admission to the train museum and allows the passenger to ride the caboose as many times as desired, or to disembark in Noblesville for dining and shopping activities. The excursion schedule typically includes five round trips departing from the museum station at 11:30 a.m., and 12:30. 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. Passengers also may park in Noblesville, board the train near Bolden's Cleaners, and ride into Forest Park to visit the train museum, play Tom Thumb Golf and ride the carousel before returning to Noblesville on the final round trip.

Father's Day Car Show

The Central Indiana Vintage Vehicles organization holds its annual vintage car show in Forest Park on Father's Day. The size of the show reduces parking available within the park, so the Transportation Museum offers shuttles between the Noblesville Square and the Park beginning at 9 a.m., with the final trip to the Square at approximately 3 p.m., after the awards ceremony. The ticket price is $4 for anyone age 2 and up.

Street Dance

In late July Downtown Noblesville holds its annual Street Dance on three sides of the courthouse square. The Museum's route runs directly to the northwest corner of the square. Street Dance attendees have the opportunity to ride cabooses from the square to 196th Street and back. The ticket price is $4 for anyone age 2 and up..

Charters

The Caboose Train is also available as a charter, and is especially good for children's birthdays.

First Friday Caboose Rides

On the first Friday of the months of May through December Noblesville Main Street presents "First Friday on the Square" in downtown Noblesville.  In May, June, September and October ITM will participate by offering caboose rides from the northwest corner of the square.  Trains will depart from 8th and Logan Streets taking riders north to 196th Street passing along the edge of beautiful Forest Park.  At 196th Street the train will stop and then return to the square.  Total distance of the trip is almost four miles and each trip lasts about 20 minutes.  Families have great fun seeing the park from a new perspective.  The ticket price is $4 per person for everyone age 2 and up.Also, ITM often brings an interesting item of equipment from our vast collection of rolling stock and places that equipment on the corner of 8th and Logan Streets for visitors to tour or examine.  Enjoy the small-town atmosphere in the middle of a city and visit downtown Noblesville on a "First Friday."

Festival Caboose Rides

We will also be offering caboose rides at several festival events!  The ticket price at all festivals is $4 per person for everyone age 2 and up.

Tipton Pork Festival - September 10th & 11th- Board our cabooses at Jefferson Street (State Road 28) and ride south to County Road 300 South, then back.  The distance covered is 3 miles.

Atlanta New Earth Festival - September 25th & 26th- Ride a 3 mile round-trip between County Line Road and Tipton County Road 450 South.
