National Train Day Celebration

A weekend of family fun celebrating our rich railroad heritage

Tank Car

Did you know that Indiana is the Crossroads of America in more ways than one? Did you know Indianapolis is home to the first Union Station? Did you know that just North of  Indianapolis, the Indiana Transportation Museum is home to one of the largest collections of railroad collections around (featuring trolleys, diesel locomotives, a steam locomotive and passenger as well as freight cars from the late 1800’s through the 1950’s)?

At one time in the 20th Century, more than 2 million people worked the railroads in the United Staes. Join us for a day of fun and exploration in Noblesville’s Forest Park, as we show you what it was like to be a part of America’s beloved and romanticized railroad industry during its heyday.

We’ll be featuring a day full of tours and special, interactive activities and demonstrations – a perfect outing for families and kids of all ages. What are you waiting for?
