P olar Bear Junction
It’s that time of year again.
Bells are jingling, goodies are baking and Snowflake the polar bear is dancing as Santa and his helpers prepare for the holidays. How does Santa move all those presents for all the boys and girls from his workshop to his sleigh? By train, of course. This holiday season, visit the Polar Bear Junction. See where Santa, Snowflake and the rest of the North Pole load the toys and goodies onto outbound trains for those that made Santa’s nice list.
Never visited the North Pole in person? This is your chance. Start your tour at the North Pole Station, and take part in the festive atmosphere with numerous lights, hot cocoa and candy canes. Hear a story in a historic train (stationary, heated, and lit), and get your photo taken with a holiday mural featuring Santa’s favorite steam locomotive, Nickel Plate Road No. 587. Other surprises are in store, including a visit from a special guest.
All proceeds from the event support the nonprofit, educational Indiana Transportation Museum. Currently, the Indiana Transportation Museum is unable to gain access to the railroad managed by the Hoosier Heritage Port Authority of Hamilton County and the cities of Fishers and Noblesville. The Museum continues to collaborate with the Hoosier Heritage Port Authority to restore train service to the line in order to once again provide long-time family favorites in the future, such as the Polar Bear Express.
This is your transportation museum. Show your support to preserve railroad history for future generations.
This event takes place at the museum’s facilities in Noblesville’s Forest Park. No trains will be in operation.
