The Polar Bear Express has delighted children of all ages
since 1995. Families gather at Fishers
Station for a ride on a real train with refreshments served on
board.
On daytime trips (shown on the tan background on the schedule below)
the train
travels from Fishers to Noblesville and returns to Fishers.
Santa Claus rides the train and visits with the passengers.
Juice and cookies are served to the children.
The evening trips (5:45 and 7:30pm) travel through
Noblesville's square to the "North Pole" located at the Indiana
Transportation Museum in Forest Park in northwest Noblesville.
Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Polar Bear board the train for the return to
Fishers. During the trip children receive hot cocoa and a
"goody bag" containing cookies and candy.
Each trip begins with passengers gathering in
Fishers Station for a story presentation where staff and volunteers from the
Hamilton East Public Library will read a new, railroad-related
Christmas story. A real train ride follows the reading.
Please
plan to arrive 15 minutes before the selected story time and enter the Fishers Station
located at 11601 Municipal Drive, Fishers, IN 46308 (116th Street, half
a mile west of the I-69
interchange). The reading will take place in the Community Room. Free parking is
available at the station.
