To kick off the Indiana Transportation Museum’s 2014 season, steam locomotive Leviathan 63 visited our railroad as part of the fundraising efforts for the 2015 Lincoln Funeral Train. It was hard to find a frown this weekend as steam excursions made their way up and down our line for the first time in over a decade as our steam locomotive 587 is diligently overhauled.
Trains left from Fishers Station on both Saturday and Sunday taking riders for an unforgettable ride along the Nickel Plate heritage right-of-way towards Noblesville. Passengers were given a rare opportunity to ride aboard Henry Flagler’s private rail car or take in the view from the museum’s first-ever open air car.
Take a ride in the cab of the Leviathan steam locomotive as it makes its way through downtown Noblesville in the video below:
The Indiana Transportation museum would like to thank our passengers, volunteers, the Lincoln Funeral Train organization, and the communities along our line this weekend that allowed us to make this event a great success possible.
