Field Trips

The Indiana Transportation Museum is committed to preserving and interpreting our nation’s railroad heritage by providing visitors with moving, immersive experiences. Our museum offers customized options for your group based upon education level, age and trip objectives.

Your field trip may include a tour of our grounds at Forest Park and/or a ride on our train from or to various towns or cities along our railroad. Popular choices include boarding at Fishers, Indiana for a trip to Noblesville, eventually visiting our museum at Forest Park. Groups also travel from our museum to Cicero, Indiana where students are taken over Morse Lake on a short ride.

This ride is also often combined with a tour of the museum at Forest Park. Many groups elect to have a sack lunch in a park shelter at Forest Park during their visit. For more information on the possibilities for your group’s field trip, please email our Business Office at
